Motivating high school kids: Is it possible?
We here at Awesome in Action are not sure it is….but we gave it a good college (high school?) “try” this morning at Greeley’s University Schools.
We had an awesome time in Mr. Hatfield’s advising class with 31 students….the subject of the presentation: “Why Try?”
Nick spent 1/2 hour explaining to the students how he keeps himself motivated to reach his goals.
He talked to them about PERSPECTIVE, and the impact thoughts have on our feelings about upcoming events.
Nick explained that he feels nervous sometimes about his events, but he always tries to change his attitude so that he gains the courage to try.
We hope the high school students of University Schools in Greeley came away from the presentation believing they can make a change in their life.
As a bonus, Nick was able to visit with Greeley University School’s principal, Holly Sample, a great friend and mentor who has been in his life for over 20 years. Nick loves
her laugh!
Ciao, Bulldogs!
