Nick loves Estes Park, and Estes Park loves all of their local authors, so it seemed fitting to the AiA “Nicksters” that he would like to attend the Estes Valley Library’s 2nd Annual “Love Your Local Author Festival” in February.

So, on a bright, crisp February day, Nick and his job coach Audrey careened up the mountain road to reach the Estes Valley Library to set up their wares.

Nick and the team made some new friends during the event and he would like to tell you about them.  Roni Wing Lambrecht and her husband, John,  lost their only son, Dalton,  in 2013. While grieving her loss, she and her family created an organization to continue touching people’s lives as their son Dalton had done. In addition, she wrote two books advising parents to make a lasting and meaningful relationship with their children.

Literacy Night at Monroe Early Childhood Center!

img_4014smJudy Tessier invited Nick and the AiA img_4001smteam back to Monroe Early Childhood Center’s Literacy Night again this year to read alound to the younglings.  Nick loves these children!
There were many antics as Nick prepared to read.

But everyone settled down to hear the story of Nick’s pet lion Sandy in a place called Ethiopia!

Thanks to Liz Urban, Nick was able to read his book to kids from Spanish-speaking homes, and made a very special connection with 4-year old Porfirio, a talented author and illustrator in his own right!

Some kids wrote their own stories, and some just illustrated.  How creative this group turned out to be.

Nick enjoyed reconnecting with old families ….

And meeting new families…….
